Sharon Hospital hosts Nutrition Lunch and Learn

Posted: 3/6/2019

In celebration of Nutrition Month, Sharon Hospital will host a Nutrition Lunch and Learn to teach individuals how to eat healthy.

The educational luncheon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March. 27, in the hospital’s Board Conference Room 2, 50 Hospital Hill Road.

This event is open to the public, with limited seating, and has no cost.

Attendees will enjoy a nutritious meal and hear from Allison Vieira, a registered dietitian at the hospital. She will discuss how to choose foods and beverages with less saturated fat, sodium and added sugars. Participants will learn how to start with small changes to build healthier eating styles.

“Healthy eating is a challenge, but the little changes, such as replacing white bread with whole grains or adding a 20-minute walk twice a week to your schedule, can have a big impact on someone’s overall health,” Vieira said.

Registration is required; no walk-ins.

Seating is limited. To reserve one, visit healthquest.org/wellness or call 845-554-1734 (TTY 1-800-842-9710).
