Posted: 5/9/2018

For the third consecutive year, the Wound Care Center at Northern Dutchess Hospital was named a Center of Excellence by Healogics for its high standards of patient care.

Healogics is a Jacksonville, Fla.-based company that works with Northern Dutchess Hospital to treat chronic and acute wounds, including diabetic and pressure ulcers and non-healing surgical wounds.

Out of 340 eligible centers, Northern Dutchess was among 268 honored with the Robert A. Warriner III Center of Excellence Award, named after wound care pioneer and Healogics’ former chief medical officer.

To be eligible, Northern Dutchess exceeded the benchmark patient satisfaction score of 92 percent and the healing rate of 91 percent of patients within 30 days on average, and achieved both quality metrics in 2016 and 2017.

“Our care providers choose this medical specialty because of their passion to help patients. I think that’s the key to our high patient satisfaction and successful healing rates,” said Dr. Jeffrey Hatter, medical director of the center.
