Putnam Hospital Center Foundation raises $150,000 at annual gala

Posted: 10/11/2017

Close to 300 people attended the Putnam Hospital Center Foundation’s Moonlight Ball on Saturday, Oct. 7, that honored the “Spirit of PHC.”

The gala was held for the first time in Putnam County on the grounds of the hospital campus, raising more than $150,000 for programs and services at the medical center. Attendees dined and danced under a harvest moon, celebrating the hard work and dedication of the hospital’s entire staff.

“The 2017 Moonlight Ball was an opportunity to celebrate the Spirit of PHC — a spirit found in the expert physicians on the medical staff, our dedicated staff, and the countless moments of caring and excellence that are the hallmark of Putnam Hospital Center,” said Jerry Klein, chairman of the foundation. “We were thrilled to host this event right on the hospital campus and raise important philanthropic support for the benefit of every patient who walks through our doors.”

The event co-chairs were Barbara and Dr. Mitch Cohn.

"The Moonlight Ball was a wonderful success,” Cohn said. “The event is paramount to our philanthropic goal as a community to afford our hospital the support it needs in providing high-quality medical care for our patients.”

“Bringing the Moonlight Ball to the hospital campus reinforces our commitment to the healthcare needs of the Putnam County community and our partnership in the county’s economic success,” hospital President Peter Kelly said.
