Posted: 2/5/2015

CARMEL, N.Y. – The Center for Wound Healing at Putnam Hospital Center is hosting an open house from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13, 670 Stoneleigh Ave.

The community is welcome to come and learn about the services offered at the center, including wound care dressings and grafts, infectious disease management and tissue removal.

Patients with diabetes and vascular disease are at risk of developing ulcers and non-healing wounds.

The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a medical treatment that aids in the healing of chronic wounds and in strengthening the immune system. Patients are placed in a hyperbaric chamber for a 90-minute treatment.

The Center for Wound Healing is the only facility in Putnam County to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The open house will feature displays of the two chambers.

Sugar-free snacks will be provided. For more information, contact the Center for Wound Healing at 845-278-5682.
