Northern Dutchess Hospital receives $22,000 Share the Love donation

Posted: 5/9/2019

Ruge’s Automotive CEO Kristin Hutchins presented Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation with a check for $22,295 on Tuesday, May 7, as part of Subaru’s annual Share the Love campaign.

This is the fifth successive year Ruge’s has designated the Rhinebeck hospital as its hometown charity, raising more than $110,000 in total.

During December’s Share the Love campaign, anyone who purchases or leases a new Subaru can designate $250 to be given to a national charity or the dealer’s local charity of choice.

Ruge’s Automotive founder, Lewis Ruge, has been a member of the hospital’s board of directors for 44 years and its foundation board for 35 years. Hutchins, Ruge’s daughter, is also on the foundation board.

“By selecting us as one of their charities year after the year, the Ruge family continues to ‘share the love’ with Northern Dutchess Hospital and the feeling is mutual,” hospital President Denise George said. “We are fortunate to have such a generous family that values the commitment we’ve made to enhance and advance patient care.”

Subaru’s Share the Love event raises more than $5 million a year for national and local charities.
