Northern Dutchess Hospital offers new stroke support group

A new Stroke Support Group for survivors and their families will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at Northern Dutchess Hospital, 6511 Springbrook Ave.

The support group offers the opportunity to share experiences and discuss the physical, social, emotional and psychological impacts of stroke in a supportive environment. There is no cost to attend.

The meetings will be held in the dining room of the Paul Rosenthal Rehabilitation Center at the hospital. Caregivers are also welcome.

The group is led by social worker Hadas Liebermann, who recently joined the treatment team to provide counseling to those recovering from strokes and illnesses.
