Multispecialty center brings physicians and services to Hudson Valley Mall

Posted: 2/5/2020

Nuvance Health held a grand opening celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 4, for its newest and one of its largest multispecialty medical centers.

Formerly the Macy’s store in the Hudson Valley Mall, Nuvance Health spent just over a year and more than $20 million transferring the vacant big box store into a healthcare center with urgent care, radiology, neurology and laboratory services. Family healthcare is provided in the facility by Hudson River Health Care (HRHCare), which leases space there and hosts Health Quest Medical Education family medicine residents.

“This new location brings healthcare providers and services closer to the homes and workplaces of Ulster County residents, who have long trusted us with their care,” said Dr. Christopher Lehrach, president of Nuvance Health’s medical groups. “It’s a beautiful, modern space and we look forward to continuing to provide excellent healthcare in our community.”

About 200 people attended the joint celebration with the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the 88,000-square-foot location at 1240 Ulster Ave.

Hudson River Health Care also celebrated its grand opening. HRHCare provides on-site, state-of-the-art family healthcare, primary care, women’s health, behavioral health, nutrition services and care coordination.

“We are truly thrilled to welcome patients into our brand-new, state-of-the-art Community Health Center at Kingston. With Nuvance Health, we are bringing a full range of exceptional primary and preventive care to even more individuals and families in Ulster County,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, CEO of Hudson River Health Care.

The multispecialty center boasts ample parking, a comfortable lobby, walk-in availability for laboratory services, modern patient rooms and the convenience of being located near the town’s shopping sector. Plans include adding physical and occupational therapy as well as more specialists.

About 40 healthcare providers and an additional 125 people are expected to be employed there when it’s fully occupied, according to Nuvance Health officials.

Since 2016, HQMP opened two multispecialty centers in Highland and Kingston Plaza, and has additional locations in Woodstock, Boiceville and Modena.
