Dr. Donzella Dixon is the newest member of the Health Quest Medical Practice Division of Primary Care in LaGrangeville. She treats patients ages 18 and older.

“I am excited to join the Hudson Valley community and begin building relationships with patients to offer the most effective and individualized care. I am committed to healthcare promotion and prevention because there is evidence that this significantly reduces the emotional, social and financial costs of healthcare in the population,” Dixon said.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Dixon previously served as an attending physician with South Island Medical Associates in Brooklyn, where she collaborated with other physicians to manage hospitalized patients and treat those with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and hypertension.

Prior to this, she worked with Betances Health Center in New York as a teacher and supervisor of family medicine residents from Beth Israel Medical Center’s Family Medicine program in New York’s Lower East Side. She also oversaw nurse practitioner students from Columbia Presbyterian Nursing School in Yonkers completing clinical rotations.

Dixon earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and holds a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University in New York. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, floral arrangement and collecting stamps and Jamaican artwork.

The primary care office is at 1100 Route 55, LaGrangeville. To schedule an appointment, call HQMP Connect at 1-888-525-HQMP (888-525-4767) (TTY: 1-800-421-1220).
