Health Quest providers to help local seniors at Golden Gathering

Health Quest will offer medication reviews, nutrition advice, information about sepsis and Zika virus, and 50 free flu vaccinations at the Golden Gathering from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The Golden Gathering is free for all who attend and hosted by state Sen. Sue Serino at Arlington High School, 1157 Route 55, LaGrangeville, for the benefit of senior citizens across the 41st Senate District.

The event will feature free health screenings, free flu shots, entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and almost 100 tables full of information from local businesses and organizations geared toward the interests and needs of area senior citizens.

Health Quest will offer:
Health Quest Medication Review with Northern Dutchess Hospital Pharmacist Tim Govel. Attendees should bring medications and supplements with them or make a list of what they take. Govel can review prescriptions for adverse interactions and answer questions about side effects, how best to take the medications and more.
Health Quest Nutrition Guidance with Vassar Brothers Medical Center registered dietitians Lauren Falcone and Elizabeth Miller.
Health Quest Sepsis/Zika Information with Health Quest Medical Practice primary care physician Dr. Carolyn Nemec, who will provide handouts and answer questions on sepsis and Zika.
Health Quest Flu Vaccinations with Health Quest Medical Practice Providers. Health Quest Medical Practice will provide 50 free flu vacations based on a first come, first served basis. Consent and registration forms are required. People with allergies to eggs and latex should not get the flu shot at this event.
