Veteran primary care internist Dr. Kristie Schmidt has joined Health Quest Medical Practice’s first primary care office in the Town of North East.

“Establishing a Health Quest Medical Practice primary care office in the Town of North East will offer residents of eastern Dutchess County and northwestern Connecticut access to a spectrum of healthcare services and specialists close to home while extending the reach of our services to patients,” said Dr. Glenn Loomis, chief medical operations officer for Health Quest and president of Health Quest Medical Practice.

Previously, Schmidt was employed by CareMount Medical, focusing on the primary care of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. She also served as an attending physician at Sharon Hospital in Connecticut for 10 years and remains a member of the medical staff in a courtesy capacity.

“For almost 20 years I have worked to combine high-quality, evidence-based medicine with individualized, artisanal care in my Millerton office. In these times, as the practice of medicine has become the delivery of healthcare, I look forward to partnering with Health Quest to continue to provide comprehensive and compassionate care,” Schmidt said.

Schmidt received her bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of California. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. She completed her internship, residency and fellowship in primary care internal medicine with the Department of Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City.

Schmidt is licensed in New York and Connecticut.

Her office is at 37 Century Blvd., Millerton. She can be reached at 518-789-4000. For more information, visit
