Health Quest facilities prepared as flu prevalence declared in New York

Posted: 12/16/2014

The announcement by Acting New York Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker on the prevalence of influenza throughout the state has set in motion regulations at healthcare facilities to protect patients, staff and visitors throughout the flu season.

"Flu shots are a safe and effective way to reduce your risk for infection during flu season and I urge all New Yorkers to get one," Zucker said in a statement.
Health Quest facilities, including Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in the City of Poughkeepsie, in addition to its Urgent Care centers in LaGrangeville and Wappingers Falls, are prepared to respond to patients afflicted with the flu. Preventive measures are also a high priority at all Health Quest facilities to keep the flu from spreading.
