Health Quest donates AED to local convention center

Posted: 2/27/2019

In honor of American Heart Month, Health Quest wished to make a lasting and vital impact on the communities it serves with the gift of an automated external defibrillator to the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, formerly the Mid-Hudson Civic Center.

On Wednesday, February 20, the defibrillator, known as an AED, was donated to the convention center, where it will be located to help visitors in the event of a cardiac emergency.

Tim Massie, senior vice president of Marketing, Public Affairs and Government Relations for Health Quest, and Heart Center cardiologist Dr. Ethan Gundeck presented the AED to Lydia Higginson, vice president of development for the convention center.

“We hope the defibrillator is never put to use, but in the event one of our thousands of patrons experiences a cardiac incident, Health Quest's donation gives us a sense of security knowing this lifesaving device is nearby,” said Danielle Anderson, president of the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center. “We are extremely grateful to Health Quest for their donation to our community.”

The presentation occurred at the February Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Contact Breakfast, held at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Conference Center.
