Health Quest adds assistant vice president of neurosciences

Dr. Paul Wright has joined the Health Quest Medical Practice Division of Neurosciences and will serve as the assistant vice president of neurosciences for the health system.

He will treat patients at the Poughkeepsie office, 21 Reade Place, Suite 3100.

“I look forward to working with the dedicated faculty to advance neurosciences in the Hudson Valley,” Wright said. “By combining novel ideas and technologies, in conjunction with our team of accomplished physicians, we will continue to serve our community with distinction.”

Wright will oversee all aspects of the neuroscience program for the health system.

With more than 18 years of experience in neurology, the Great Neck, NY, native most recently served as senior vice president of quality for the Neuroscience Institute at Northwell Health, based in Manhasset, NY, and associate medical director at NorthShore University Hospital, also in Manhasset.

In 2015, Wright was appointed chair of Neurology for NorthShore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY. Prior to this, he served as vice president of Neurology for Northwell Health System’s central and eastern regions, overseeing neurology services for all hospitals and outpatient centers in Eastern Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties in Long Island.

He was also a member of Northwell Health Physician Partners, where he earned the distinguished Patient’s Choice Award.

Wright earned his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, and his master’s in business administration, with distinction, from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

He completed his residency in neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, where he also served as chief resident. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular disease at the medical center.

Board certified in psychiatry and neurology, Wright has extensive research experience, most recently examining patient quality and outcomes in health systems.

He is a part of the teaching faculty at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University and Hofstra Northwell School of Graduate Nursing and Physician Assistant, both in Hempstead, NY. Wright continues to teach a master’s level class in health administration as an adjunct associate professor at the Hofstra University School of Health Sciences and Human Services.

A veteran of the armed forces, Wright is also an avid traveler. He has competed internationally in judo and enjoys competing in Iron Man triathlons and marathons.
