Health and Wellness Fair for Seniors and Caregivers at Putnam Hospital Center

Putnam Hospital Center, in conjunction with The Boxwood Alliance, will host a Health and Wellness Fair for Seniors and Caregivers over two days in October.

The fair will is open to the public and will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Putnam Hospital Center, 670 Stoneleigh Ave.

Exhibitors will include a variety of hospital, business, county and community-based organizations that offer services and resources to seniors and caregivers.

Some of the hospital departments participating include dietary, oncology, radiology, physical therapy, pharmacy and case management. Information and screenings will be available to participants, including a tutorial on sepsis and Medical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment forms.

Community agencies taking part in the two-day fair include the Alzheimer’s Association, Mental Health Association in Putnam County, Putnam County Department of Health and Plaza at Clover Lake. The Boxwood Alliance is an aging-in-place organization supporting seniors and their families.

“This is a great opportunity to share with our residents all the resources available to them within our own community,” Putnam Hospital Center’s Health Education Coordinator Sarena Chisick said.
