General surgeon enhances Northern Dutchess Hospital’s minimally invasive capabilities

Posted: 3/22/2017

Dr. Frances Allocco recently joined Health Quest Medical Practice as a general surgeon with office hours in Rhinebeck and surgical privileges at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Allocco moved her practice to Rhinebeck from Texas, where the fellowship-trained surgeon worked at Fort Worth-based Minimally Invasive Surgery Specialists.

The Rhinebeck resident was raised outside of Chicago and holds a doctorate in medicine from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. After medical school, she was a resident at the University Hospitals of Cleveland and a fellow at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

“I knew I wanted to be a surgeon the first time I walked into an operating room. I love the way the mind and body work together during surgery to help patients overcome an illness,” Allocco said.

She has six years of experience and offers minimally invasive procedures related to hernias, gall bladders, colons and soft tissue.

Allocco is a classically trained singer who also enjoys listening to jazz and opera music.

HQMP’s Division of General Surgery Rhinebeck office is in suite 1004 at Northern Dutchess Hospital, 6511 Springbrook Ave. For information, visit www.healthquest.org/surgery call 845-871-4275 (TTY 800-421-1220).
