Dr. Simon Gorwara appointed head of The Heart Center

Dr. Simon Gorwara is the new managing partner and president of The Heart Center, a division of Hudson Valley Cardiovascular Practice, P.C. Gorwara has stepped into the role previously held by Dr. Daniel O’Dea. O’Dea is now the vice president of cardiovascular services at Health Quest.

“I’m excited to take on this additional responsibility,” Gorwara said. “It’s an honor to be able to lead the Heart Center’s team of highly qualified and skilled professionals. The Heart Center has established a reputation of excellence in the community and I hope to continue to advance our quality of care and cardiovascular services.”

Gorwara has been an invaluable member of The Heart Center team since 2001, demonstrating expertise in both noninvasive and interventional cardiology and performing among the highest volume of peripheral interventions in the region.

He received his medical degree from Christian Medical College in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical College and a fellowship in critical care medicine at North Shore University Hospital.

Gorwara also completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, respectively.

He holds board certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine, along with board certification in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and critical care medicine.
