August memoir-writing workshop offered in Rhinebeck

Posted: 7/14/2017

Learn how to turn a significant memory into a captivating story at a Memoir Workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on three consecutive Mondays beginning Aug. 7.

This workshop, at the Center for Healthy Aging, 6529 Springbrook Ave., Rhinebeck, is open to adults and has no cost. Registration is required. Participants must be able to attend all sessions.

During each workshop, writing instructor Beverly Sloane will help participants plan, construct and learn more about the tools for writing a vivid story that will bring their memories to life. Allison Gould, a licensed social worker from the Center for Healthy Aging, will support participants as they draw out and explore the emotional and interpersonal aspects of their stories.

“Providing participants with the chance to work with Beverly Sloane, a seasoned memoir writing instructor, to help shape and share their stories in the written form is very unique,” Gould said. “We are delighted to offer this educational opportunity to our community through the Center for Healthy Aging.”

For information and to register, call 845-876-4745 (TTY 1-800-421-1220).
