We are committed to delivering comprehensive quality care for patients who suffer a stroke.

As the fourth-leading cause of death and the number one cause of disability nationwide, stroke affects 700,000 people annually, and a rapid response is critical for each patient.

Because of our dedication to providing excellent care for patients with stroke, the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) has designated Putnam Hospital Center as a Primary Stroke Center. We have also earned the New York State Department of Health Stroke Center Designation, and we continually strive for quality improvement by collecting, analyzing and acting upon data related to stroke treatment and hospital team performance. Putnam Hospital Center received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Silver PLUS Quality Achievement Award.
