Type 2 diabetes can cause serious health problems and the constant finger-pricking, pill-swallowing or insulin injections that come with the preventable disease can greatly decrease one’s quality of life. Northern Dutchess Hospital will once again partner with the American Red Cross to help people in urgent need of blood. The hospital will host five blood drives this year. They are from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays on Feb. 3, June 30, July 14, Sept. 1 and Dec. 1.
