Health Quest will continue its interactive series, Dinner with the Doc, this April and May, offering five educational talks throughout the mid-Hudson Valley. Putnam Hospital Center sponsors free mammogram event

Putnam Hospital Center and the Cancer Services Program of the Hudson Valley will host a free breast cancer screening for eligible women from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 15. The screening includes a clinical breast exam and a mammogram and is open to uninsured women between the ages of 50 and 64. Screenings will take place at Putnam Hospital Center, Outpatient Radiology Department, 664 Stoneleigh Ave. Registration is required. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. with more than 8,500 Americans diagnosed each day, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer, has seen its rates double from 1982 to 2011, with an estimated 144,860 new cases projected for 2016. Medical Oncologist joins Dyson Center for Cancer Care

Medical Oncologist Dr. Amir Harandi has joined the Dyson Center for Cancer Care at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Harandi will work at the 45 Reade Place center starting Tuesday, Sept. 1.
