Take charge of your own well-being with options in fitness, nutrition, diabetes and more.
Whether you are recovering from illness or just looking to get healthier, Health Quest offers many types of wellness programs to help you become more proactive in achieving your goals.
Patient education is at the forefront of our program. We offer many educational classes and workshops, including diabetes self-management, to help you learn how to create a healthy lifestyle. Our nutritional counseling address the needs of many patients — from weight loss to cancer. We also sponsor numerous support groups, including substance abuse programs and weight loss programs for teens and adults.
To help you get in shape and stay in shape, our Wellness Center provides state-of-the-art fitness equipment as well as physical trainers who provide customized training to meet your goals.
When times get tough, our comprehensive behavioral health services can accommodate your needs with customized treatment on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
As an adjunct to traditional medicine, we offer patients a variety of complementary therapies to relieve stress and promote relaxation, lessen chronic pain, ease childbirth, combat the effects of radiation treatment and act as a support in rehabilitation. Many of these services are also available on an outpatient basis at the Northern Dutchess Hospital Women’s View Health Annex.
Our offerings include:
- Massage is a wonderful tool to loosen muscular tension, stimulate blood flow and help your body relax. The types of massage we offer include: Swedish, deep tissue, medical, pregnancy and reflexology (a therapeutic form of foot massage). Because we know about the hard work of giving birth, massages are available for laboring mothers at the Neugarten Family Birth Center.
- Acupuncture is a procedure involving the stimulation of certain anatomical parts of the body, most often with small, thin, metallic needles. For some patients, it is a minimally painful experience. Reported effects range from diminished pain perception, relaxation, increased energy and an enhancement of general well-being.
- Reiki is a form of gentle touch therapy that has proven successful in helping patients relax and relieve stress. It is generally received lying down and is performed by licensed practitioners.
To schedule an appointment for one of these therapies, please call the Northern Dutchess Hospital Women’s View Health Annex at (845) 871-4380.
